AC/DC, the iconic rock band and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees, will be returning to Detroit after nearly a decade, rocking Ford Field on April 30 as part of their highly anticipated "Power Up Tour." The legendary Australian group will be performing their greatest hits alongside songs from their 2020 album Power Up, which was nominated for Best Rock Album at the 2022 Grammy Awards.Tickets for the tour go on sale this Friday at noon on AC/DC's official website. Joining AC/DC on select dates of the tour will be special guests The Pretty Reckless, the American rock band fronted by Taylor Momsen. The North American tour kicks off on April 10 at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis and concludes on May 28 at Huntington Bank Field in Cleveland.The tour will make stops in 13 cities, including Dallas, Las Vegas, Foxborough (Gillette Stadium), Pittsburgh, Tampa, Nashville, and Chicago. AC/DC last performed at Ford Field during their Rock or Bust World Tour in September 2015. In 2016, they also performed at the Palace of Auburn Hills with Guns N' Roses' Axl Rose filling in for vocalist Brian Johnson, who had to leave the band temporarily due to hearing issues.Brian Johnson has since returned to the lineup, and for the upcoming tour, he will be joined by lead guitarist Angus Young, rhythm guitarist Stevie Young, drummer Matt Laug, and bassist Chris Chaney, who replace original members Phil Rudd and Cliff Williams, respectively.AC/DC, formed in 1973, has sold over 200 million albums worldwide, cementing their status as one of the best-selling bands in history. Power Up, their 17th studio album, was met with widespread acclaim and showcased the band's timeless sound and relentless energy. Fans will surely get a high-voltage performance during this 2025 tour.In addition to AC/DC’s return, Ford Field will also host other major acts in 2025. Post Malone will bring his Big Ass Stadium Tour to the venue on May 18.
